Friday 8/30/02:
6:00-8:00 P.M. DAMON TROY & LOUISIANA BEAT - Damon, although only 20 years old, has the ability and showmanship of a seasoned veteran. A Lafayette, La. native, Damon has a distinctive and energetic performance style that has made him a popular attraction in Louisiana. Backed by "Louisiana Beat," Damon is constantly moving around the stage...swinging his accordion with such energy that the audience can't help but join in the fun! The show consists of not only Cajun music, but also zydeco, country, rhythm & blues and good ole rock 'n roll.

8:30-11:00 P.M. DON RICH - Don, a fifth-generation family musician, has 35 years experience in the music industry and has opened for such acts as Eddie Raven, Freddie Fender, Joe Stampley, Percy Sledge, Wayne Toups and Jo-El Sonnier. He has mastered 7 instruments and his music has been most greatly influenced by his father, "Golen Richard", as well as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Merle Haggard & George Jones.

Saturday 8/31/02:
1:00 - 3:30 PM SOUTHERN STYLE - Southern Style band formed in January, 2000, featuring Mike Templet and Herman Coupel from Pierre Part, Louisiana, and Iris Callegan from White Castle, Louisiana. This band plays a variety of music from the 50�s and 60�s, country, swamp pop, and zydecajun � French music. Its latest CD was released last fall featuring country and originals as well as some swamp pop.

4:00 - 6:00 PM HUNTER HAYES & Louisiana H.O.T. - This blonde-haired, blue-eyed 10 year old sensation began entertaining audiences with his accordion & toe tappin' at age 2. He has performed with big names such as Wayne Toups, Jo-El Sonnier, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams, and The Oak Ridge Boys. Since he was 5 years old, Hunter has been the lead singer of his band "Louisiana H.O.T." On stage he plays the drums, piano, lead guitar, bass guitar and his favorite instrument, the accordion. Hunter has also appeared on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," "Live with Regis & Kathy Lee," "The Maury Show," "Crook & Chase," and Nickelodeon's "Figure It Out." He's also performed for President Clinton on the White House lawn. He's talented, precious, polite and above all...he'll be sure to steal your heart!

6:30 - 8:30 PM TWIN CITY RAMBLERS - Twin City Ramblers is a hometown band with lots of flare and energy. The band has been together for three years; however, the members have been friends for a lifetime. Their longtime friendship is evident when watching them perform. Their performances are full of fun and excitement. The group perfected their musical talent by playing for family and friends at the camp, around the campfire and of course, at crawfish boils. The band is made up of four members, Darrin Vicknair, Kim Crappell, Kenny Crappell and Jack Daniel. Darrin Vicknair has been playing the guitar and singing since age twelve. He is formerly of the acoustic duo Social Drinkers. Kim and Kenny Crappell, the brothers in the band, come from a family of muscians. Kenny is formerly of Kenny James and The Hitmen. Jack Daniel, the bands drummer, not only performs on stage but on television also. Jack was the star of the Lafayette television show Drumming With Jack. Twin City Ramblers is a "must see" group. They are one of the best that south Louisiana has to offer.

9:00 - 11:00 PM Louisiana�s LeRoux - Louisiana�s LeRoux (the first album) was a musical gumbo that blended various instruments and arrangements for some spicy, mouth-watering pop rock. Using blues, R&B;, funk, jazz, rock and Cajun as their base, their southern anthem �New Orleans Ladies,� voted �Song of the Century� by Gambit Magazine, simmered with the laid-back feel of the �Big Easy,� evoking images of Bourbon Street and the bayou. That song, together with their smash hit �Nobody Said It Was Easy,� brings LeRoux daily airplay from D.C. to Baton Rouge, and they remain cult heroes to this day.


Sunday 9/01/02:
NOON - 2:00 PM LES AMIS - Les Amis Cajun Band was originally organized to help preserve the French-Cajun culture for the school children. They are known for their good dancing music. All the original band members are from the Pierre Part area, and have played throughout south Louisiana. If you like friendly people and good Cajun music, you�ll enjoy Les Amis!

2:30 - 4:00 PM SOULED OUT - Souled Out is an 8-member variety band from the Morgan City/Thibodaux area. Jason Lyons, Dave Lee Mouton, Scott Pierce, Joe B. King, Jr., Beau St. Pierre, Byron �B.T.� Toups, Jerome Gros, and Jack Martin make up the group. They play 2 trumpets, saxophone, trombone, and dual pianos. All eight musicians sing harmony and lead vocals. Their reputation as a �dancing, singing, soul party� precedes them in many cities.

4:30-6:30 PM Rockin� Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters - He�s been called �The Crown Prince of Zydeco� and one of the greatest living practitioners of the zydeco genre. Dopsie presents zydeco with the raw energy, conviction, and authenticity of his rich heritage. His father, the legendary Rockin� Dopsie, Sr. gave his son his own accordion when the boy was only 9 years old. Like many zydeco musicians, Dopsie, Jr. taught himself to play by listening to his musical heroes and playing along with the tunes. According to Dopsie, Jr., �I really loved that sound but I needed more mobility so I could jump up and down and do my splits, you know.� So at the age of 21, he acquired his first rubboard and it carried him to the front of his father�s band, The Zydeco Twisters. After Dopsie, Sr.�s death, his namesake took over leadership of the group which also features brothers, Alton and Anthony. This band is one of the most energetic and popular groups on the Louisiana music scene and not to be missed!

7:00 - 9:00 PM Chris Gray - Chris Gray and his band GrayWolf have opened for some of country music�s biggest stars, including Merle Haggard, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Tim McGraw, The Dixie Chicks, and others. They have developed a reputation as the most exciting, unpredictable band in Louisiana. Although Chris is a country artist, he and the band, with their five-part harmonies and multi-instrumentalists, are a group capable of many styles and varieties of music. On any given night you may hear a bluegrass rendition of the Beatles� �Come Together,� or laugh out loud at their version of �Knocking on Heaven�s Door.� The deep, emotional ballads may bring a tear to your eye, but you will always leave their shows with a smile on your face and come back when they�re in town.

9:30 PM - 11:00 PM Ty Herndon - Ty Herndon was once one of country music�s most serious, formal performers. Several years ago, he lost some weight, became more fit, and loosened up on stage. Since then Ty has become one of country music�s biggest hunks. He has produced songs that have touched and rocked the souls of fans, and has earned several gold records in the process. His albums have had themes of dreams coming true, spirituality, healing, and one that he described as �confident, sexy, and cool.� An energetic, enthusiastic entertainer, Ty gets people moving, and brings his fans to their feet with his rendition of Randy Newman�s �You Can Leave Your Hat On.� "Ty's 5th album for Epic Records is just out and titled, "This is Ty Herndon: Greatest Hits".



Monday 9/02/02:
1:30-3:00 PM Gene King Band Featuring Mickey and Jack Jones - Gene King has lived in Louisiana all his life, but has worked all over the world including Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and the Far East. He began his musical career at the age of 14, and has worked with Jodie Miller, Michael Landon, George Lindsley, and Roy Clark. Gene has done recording work in gospel and country music. The members of his band are all Louisiana natives. Mickey and Jack Jones are brothers from Denham Springs, Louisiana, who began singing and playing guitar in their early childhood. They have had Billboard hits and have shared the stage with many of country music�s top performers such as Garth Brooks, Alabama, Alan Jackson, and others. The brothers began writing songs and have over 250 songs to their credit, including over 20 cuts on country albums, one of which was The Academy of Country Music�s �Album of the Year� in 2000.

3:30-5:00 PM ROSIE LEDET "The Zydeco Sweetheart" - One in a small handful of women in Zydeco, Rosie is also one of the few younger Zydeco players who still writes and sings some of her material in Creole French. She has won three "Best of the Best" awards by Offbeat Magazine - Best Zydeco Band or Performer, Best New Zydeco Group or Performer and Best Vocalist. According to Wall Street Journal, Rosie is "...the premier female zydeco artist, whose soulful voice kicks her male counterparts" and the Times of Acadiana says that Rosie "is easily the most prolific zydeco artist on the scene today."

5:30 - 7:00 PM JO-EL SONNIER - The music of Jo-El Sonnier is a way of life. Steeped in passion, relentlessly committed to his craft �His fans are undeniably dedicated. Jo-El Sonnier was born in Rayne, Louisiana to poor, French-speaking sharecroppers. He began to play accordion at three years of age and as he grew, so did his love for the instrument and his ability to play it. News of this gifted, French-singing child led to a radio debut by age 6 and his first recording session by age 11. Known for his incredible stage performance, Sonnier has performed all across the world; from the New Orleans Jazz Festival to the Edmonton Folk Festival to performances throughout Europe and South America.

7:30 - 9:00 PM WAYNE TOUPS - Rockin' America with his spicy blend of rock, folk, R&B; and Cajun styles, there's no one quire like Wayne Toups, as any attendee of his 125 sold-out shows a year can attest. His new album, "Little Wooden Box" is an album that bottles the outrageous energy of his performances with the Cajun tunes of his childhood. According to New Orleans' Offbeat Magazine this album will "...score a grand slam for the Toupster, this one's going in the books as his best ever!" He is equally revered by Nashville artists who hire him to play on their records (including Mark Chestnut, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Clay Walker and Sammy Kershaw)..and critics who rave about his albums...But the best way to experience Wayne's music is LIVE...and the best place is at the La. Shrimp & Petroleum Festival, closing out the 2002 celebration!
